Description
A semi-truck is left hanging off the side of an overpass after a crash Wednesday evening in Polk County.
The Florida Highway Patrol says it was called around 6:15 p.m. to a crash on Polk Parkway East at Exit 18: Old Dixie Highway.
Troopers say the driver lost control, causing the truck's trailer to rotate counterclockwise while veering onto the east shoulder.
While the semi-truck continued north, the trailer "completely destroyed approximately 300 feet of guardrail (all the way down to the asphalt)," FHP said.
All lanes of Polk Parkway East (State Road 570) remain closed in that area, with traffic exiting onto Old Dixie Highway.
One tow truck is on the scene as crews wait for a specific rotator tow truck to arrive.
No one was hurt in the crash.
