Description
Pinellas County deputies say they found a 30-year-old woman dead in an alley from what turned out to be an overdose of fentanyl.
The body of Jillian Tully was found on Jan. 8 south of 52nd Avenue N in St. Petersburg. At a press conference, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said Tully had been caught up in a "bad situation."
"It shows where we are in this country, this community, when it comes to the drug problem, and life has become devalued," Gualtieri said.
When investigators found Tully's body on the alley ground, she was reportedly wrapped in a sheet with a cardboard box placed on top. They said it was obvious that she died somewhere else and was dumped in the alley afterward.
Investigators traced Tully to the Gateway Motel using an imprint on her leg from the motel's fence. The sheet her body had been wrapped in turned out to be one of Gateway's.
