Description
As Tampa Bay prepares for storms this weekend, residents of Shore Acres are worried having experienced several instances of flooding.
"We absolutely have PTSD. We hear about the storms and the anxiety just hits," said Meghan Martin, who has lived in Shore Acres for over seven years.
Most recently, residents living there suffered serious damage from Hurricane Idalia. That hurricane put most people in the neighborhood out of their homes due to the damage.
"We had pretty significant flooding and the flood water stayed for about eight hours. So it really got a chance to seep in," Martin explained.
That damage forced her family and their four cats to move into a one-bedroom condo for the last few months. They had been preparing to move back into their Shore Acres home this weekend.
