Description
President Biden convened a meeting at the White House Tuesday to discuss how his administration and law enforcement can work to stop the flow of fentanyl into the United States.
At the top of the meeting, however, President Biden made brief remarks about the negotiations between Israel and Hamas to release dozens of hostages being held by the U.S.-designated terror group. Mr. Biden said a deal is "now very close, very close" to bringing some hostages home. He added that "nothing is done until it's done" and did not offer additional details on the negotiations.
CBS News has learned, via a senior Hamas member, that the group plans to exchange 50 hostages for 150 prisoners being held by Israel.
