Almost a week after an Amtrak train derailed in Lakeland leading to injuries, Morgan & Morgan filed a lawsuit against three trucking companies. Eight people were taken to the hospital Friday, July 14, after a semi-truck and an Amtrak train collided, the Polk County Sheriff's Office previously said. The semi-truck hauling seven cars became stuck on a train track at Canal Avenue North, just south of US 92, authorities said in an update Saturday.
