Description
Three people were hurt when an ambulance transporting a patient from Fort Myers to a hospital in the Tampa Bay area overturned on Interstate 75 Sunday morning.
At around 4:30 a.m., a 21-year-old man driving an AMBITRANS ambulance was heading northbound on I-75 near milepost 260, Florida Highway Patrol said in a report.
The driver started to enter the 260B exit ramp and realized it was not the correct exit. When the driver attempted to re-enter the northbound travel lanes of I-75, the ambulance struck a guardrail attenuator and overturned, FHP said.
