Description
A New Jersey man was arrested after he made an anonymous online threat to kill the Volusia County sheriff, the agency explained on Facebook.
The threat reportedly stemmed from Sheriff Mike Chitwood's recent stand against a neo-Nazi hate group. Richard Golden, 38, was arrested at his mother's house on Monday and is now facing extradition to Volusia County to face his felony charge.
The sheriff announced the man's arrest Tuesday during a news conference, once again "denouncing the hateful and violent rhetoric circulating online among fringe members of society."
