"We saw the phones go down, the computer went down, the screens went out," says Maria Jose Fernandes, a psychiatric ward worker at a hospital in Madrid, following a major power outage that brought Spain and Portugal to a halt on Monday. According to Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, hospitals were able to continue working due to generators. "If we didn't have a generator, they couldn't be in the ICU," Fernandes says.
