Description
About a dozen protesters gathered Wednesday outside Red Beast Enterprises, also known as High Quality Research, following federal animal welfare violations documented at the facility by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The protest was sparked by a USDA inspection report released after People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) submitted findings from a seven-month undercover investigation.
The USDA cited Red Beast Enterprises for multiple violations related to the care of animals used in research, including undocumented or delayed treatments for cats and dogs, torn cage materials, and food contaminated with fecal matter and bedding shavings.
