Description
Sponsored by: Navy Federal Credit Union | San Diego is home to a strong and vibrant community, with more than 115,000 active-duty service members. But America’s Finest City is also one of the most expensive places to live, which can impact young enlisted families who struggle to make ends meet. Jesse Border, AVP of Branch Operations at Navy Federal Credit Union, joins our Laura Cavanaugh to share an easy way for our community to step up and salute our military families and give back.
CBS 8 is partnering with Navy Federal Credit Union and nonprofit STEP, Support The Enlisted Project, again in 2025 to collect and distribute personal care items to our young military families in San Diego County. The 2025 Bags for the Brave donation drive supports military families. From now through the end of May, the public is encouraged to drop off personal care items to any one of Navy Federal’s 27 branches across San Diego County. The public is encouraged to donate personal care items, toiletries and home goods and drop them off at the red donation boxes inside the Navy Federal Credit Union branches. All donations will stay local and benefit military personnel, families and veterans based in San Diego.
Items accepted during the donation window include: Diapers, Deodorant, Shampoo, Conditioner, Laundry Detergent/Pods, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Dental Floss, Disposable Razors, Shaving Cream, Bath Soap, Body Lotion, Dish Soap/Pods. These are personal care items that you may already have at home or can easily purchase at the store.
Stand strong together through this Military Appreciation Month.
