Description
An investigation was launched Friday after officers with the St. Pete Police Department found what they're calling a "suspicious package" outside of the department's headquarters.
At a press conference, Police Chief Anthony Holloway said at around 2:30 p.m., a maintenance employee came outside and saw a "suspicious" vehicle in the parking lot.
A supervisor was notified and searched around the area before finding a suitcase under one of the department's forensic vehicles, according to Holloway.
During an investigation, officers reportedly reviewed security footage which showed a woman driving up in a car and then pulling a large suitcase out before walking around the wall, under a security barrier and into a restricted area with the suitcase.
Officers ran a tag on the car and then went to the address associated with it — located off of 4th Avenue North.
