A speedboat trying to set a new record in an Arizona lake ended up airborne and it was all caught on camera.
The incident happened Saturday during an event called the Desert Storm Shugrue's Shootout on Lake Havasu in Arizona. The viral video captured the shocking moment when the speedboat lost control and spun in the air before crashing back in the water.
The boat, named America One, landed upright and the driver and throttleman had minor injuries, according to officials from Speedboat Magazine, who shared the video. The magazine said that the two men were taken to a hospital for examination.
The two men are part of Freedom One Racing, a race team from Kansas City that raises money for charity and organizations. In a video shared Sunday, Freedom One Racing shared video from inside the speedboat during the incident.
"We are glad everyone is safe and in good condition! Here is the footage from inside the cockpit from yesterday! Thanks to everyone that has reached out and for all of the prayers!" the race team said in a Facebook post with the video.
The flying boat still managed to cross the finish line and win the contest by registering a top speed of 200.1 mph (322 kph), Speedboat Magazine Publisher Ray Lee told the Associated Press.
