April 25 on The Story: For the last few months, a political crisis has been brewing in the small Oregon Coast town of Waldport. Early this month, the city council voted to abruptly remove the mayor from office, after allegations from city staff that she was "aggressive" with them and tried to go around the city manager's authority. But the city manager is also a source of complaints, these ones leveled by members of a local nonprofit that was denied a grant by the city manager. It's a turbulent chapter in an otherwise quiet little community, and one that continues to divide area residents.
