A man who allegedly shoplifted from a Pueblo shoe store was killed Tuesday afternoon after running toward the Colorado State Patrol office and brandishing a handgun, police said. Pueblo Police said officers responded around 1:23 p.m. to a report of a theft at Famous Footwear, located at 5765 North Elizabeth Street. When officers tried to contact the suspect, he fled on foot, leading officers on a chase behind nearby businesses.
