A homicide investigation was launched Wednesday morning after deputies say a man was found dead in Seffner. Just after 3:00 a.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call about a person shot off of Phillips Drive. After arriving, deputies reportedly found a man on the property with "at least one gunshot wound" to his upper body. Officials say he was pronounced dead at the scene. "Violence has no place in our neighborhoods, and our detectives are committed to uncovering the full truth of what happened," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "We urge anyone who saw or heard something, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward and contact us." Detectives are asking anyone with more information to call HCSO at (813) 247-8200. An investigation is ongoing.
