Description
May 16 on The Story: Sunday marks the 45th anniversary of the Mount St. Helens eruption, a natural disaster that left an indelible mark on the Pacific Northwest. Tonight, we'll be showing you some of KGW's footage from the time and speaking with one of the reporters who covered it: before, during and after. But we'll also speak with a National Guard helicopter pilot who flew recovery missions for weeks after the eruption. He has never-before-seen, harrowing photos that he took during his time in the shadow of the eruption, which he's now sharing with the world for the first time.
