Description
Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin says confidence increasing in limited impacts to the northern Gulf coast from Gulf disturbance.
While we do have more areas being highlighted for potential development in the Atlantic, we still do not have any named storms. Invests 98 and 99 in the central and eastern Gulf have the best chance to develop in the near future, through interestingly, the models tend to dissipate this over the open ocean. Another wave closer to the Lesser Antilles seems to have a better chance, based on the ensemble models, of moving into the Caribbean and impacting the Greater Antilles next week. Also a wave still over Africa also seems to have a better chance for development in the long term. NONE of these appear to pose a threat to the Gulf.
