Description
Meteorologist Alexandra Cranford has the Wednesday tropical forecast at 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
A low pressure area in the Gulf of Mexico is expected to slowly meander eastward late this week. Its effects here in Louisiana will likely be minimal. The National Hurricane Center is highlighting the low pressure area with a low chance for development. It should hover in the middle of the Gulf in the next couple of days, and it could possibly increase rain chances here on Thursday. It could also increase winds over the Gulf on Thursday and Friday. By the weekend, it will likely either weaken or drift eastward over the Florida Peninsula with some rain.
