Description
Invest 90 in the western Gulf isn't organized, but it continues to bring rounds of rain to our area. Regardless of development, Southeast Louisiana and South Mississippi will see wet weather Friday, Friday night, and Saturday morning. At times heavy rain could cause street flooding. The weak low pressure will eventually drift south this weekend taking the rain with it. By next week, the same area of moisture will begin to lift north and bring more soaking rain to our area much of next week.
The NHC is also watching a tropical wave in the Caribbean Sea. It has a low chance of becoming a depression the next few days as it moves into the western Caribbean and extreme southern Gulf. Overall, the chance for development doesn't look very likely right now. But, this area of moisture could combine with the existing tropical moisture in the Gulf next week contributing to an extended period of wet weather along the Gulf Coast for many days next week.
A few other tropical waves are farther out in the Atlantic Ocean. Both have low development odds. Neither of these look like a threat to our area as they should remain out over the open waters.
