Description
The heat will be the focus for the next few days as we get a brief taste of summer with afternoon highs in the upper 80s and some low 90s, but heat indices well into the 90s! Record high temps will be in jeopardy Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. Rain chances are slim to none through Thursday evening.
A weak upper trough will send a cold front in for midday Friday. Ahead of along the front, we may see some showers and storms, mainly early Friday morning. The SPC has placed a level 2 threat for severe weather across the Northshore and MS coast. Temps and humidity will be on the decline on Friday, and there will be a much better feel for the Mother's Day weekend! Saturday looks very pleasant with highs only in the low 80s and low humidity.
Mother's Day remains a question. As of this morning, models kept Sunday dry. However, later runs have seen the GFS double-down on rain coverage for Sunday, and the Euro is also introducing a slight chance. Calling for a 50% now, but we'll know more as we get closer. Don't cancel any outdoor plans just yet!
