Description
The main concern will be the significant threat from tornadoes and strong winds associated with severe thunderstorms. Secondary will be some street flooding. We are awaiting the development of the system in central Texas for a confident idea on storm timing; however, models are in decent agreement.
From 6 to 11 am, we'll see mainly scattered to numerous storms. And while they could become severe, the "ingredients" necessary won't be present until closer to noon. And it's from around 11 am to 2 or 3 pm when a line or complex of storms will move quickly across south LA, and MS. Just ahead of and along the line will see the greatest wind shear and conducive parameters for supercell (rotating) thunderstorms and thus tornadoes. It will also have the strongest straight-line winds. Some showers and storms are still possible behind the initial line, but the severe threat will be waning.
