Description
Hurricane Lee has formed in the Atlantic and is forecast to become a major hurricane by the weekend. Current guidance has it staying away from the United States.
Within 24 hours, we went from a depression to now Hurricane Lee. Strengthening is forecast to continue throughout the next 5+ days as it looks to remain north of the Caribbean. The eventual steering may weaken by days 4 and 5, causing the storm to slow down. Eventually, an upper trough over the Ohio Valley and East coast will begin turning the storm north, hopefully threading the needle between the East coast and Bermuda. Models have been very consistent turning the storm away from the East coast as well as becoming a major hurricane.
