Description
Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin tells us what the new models mean.
Far more active across the Atlantic than we have been this season. Although, not surprising as September is the busiest month in hurricane season. Fiona became a category 4 and the next land are to be directly impacted will be Bermuda before it continues likely as a still strong storm toward the Canadian Maritimes.
Tropical Storm Gaston will remain over the open central Atlantic, no threat to land. And a few other tropical wave of no threat to us.
Just about in the Caribbean is of more interest, Invest 98. Models do strengthen the system in the Caribbean and are in descent agreement of it near the Yucatan Channel by Monday or Tuesday of next week. So we will remain quiet through the weekend. The models also seem to agree on the storm reaching the Gulf. Yesterday, the GFS has an upper high east of Florida with a southerly flow pushing the storm northward.
