Description
Meteorologist Alexandra Cranford has a check of the tropics on Sunday evening, September 4, 2022.
Two named storms, Danielle and Earl, are swirling in the Atlantic, but neither is headed anywhere near us.
The closest storm to us is Tropical Storm Earl which is a small system just northeast of the Leeward Islands of the Caribbean Sea. It will bring gusty winds and some heavy rain to the northern Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands in the next few days. It will head north around midweek and could become a major hurricane by Friday as it heads north/northeast over the open Atlantic.
