Description
For the ninth week in a row, there are zero active storms in the Atlantic basin and no threats to our local area. There are a few spots to watch for development this week, but none is a threat to us at this time.
The spot in the Caribbean Sea we've been watching doesn't look like it will develop. Models take this one toward Yucatan and eventually into the extreme southwestern Gulf of Mexico.
An area of low pressure in the central Atlantic called Invest 91-L has a high chance of developing in the next five days. It will likely curve northward in the central or western ocean late this week. That places it far from us. The next name on the list is Danielle.
A wave over Africa will head out over the Atlantic by Tuesday morning. It has a low chance of developing in the next several days. Models aren't developing this one much so far.
