Description
There are a couple of systems out there, Alexandra Cranford tells us in the Monday evening tropical update. None an immediate threat to southeast Louisiana yet.
For the ninth week in a row, there are zero active storms in the Atlantic basin and no threats to our local area. There are a few spots to watch for development this week, but none is a threat to us at this time.
The spot in the Caribbean Sea we've been watching has a quite low (10%) chance of developing in the next five days. Models take this one toward Yucatan and eventually into the extreme southwestern Gulf of Mexico. It is unclear how much it will be able to develop there, but it looks like it will stay far south of our area. We'll continue to track it.
