Presidential candidate Jeannette Jara, former labour minister in Gabriel Boric's government, won the Chilean left-wing primaries, becoming the ruling party's candidate for the general elections next November. Jara, a member of Chile's Communist Party, won 60 percent of the vote, according to results based on 93 percent of ballots counted, published by the Electoral Service.
