Description
June 17 on The Story: Tonight, we're bringing you part two of the series "Harvest Under Pressure" about immigrant workers in eastern Washington. In the community of Yakima, undocumented immigrants live their lives, working every day that they can and trying to keep their heads down. Some have families here, some have lived here most of their lives, and some are in and out of legal status as the U.S. bureaucracy allows. But over all of them hangs the threat that they could be suddenly detained and deported if something goes wrong — and no amount of community ties can prevent it. Still, they live in hope that someday they'll be allowed to stay without fear.
