Note to self: Tread with caution when interviewing a sports fan during the playoffs.
When I asked Nick Kroll ("The League," "Kroll Show") about his new horror-comedy "I Don't Understand You," he had other ideas on how to answer the question.
"This movie is all about Indiana winning against the Knicks and me just being genuinely so mad. It's so funny coming on with you guys to talk about this film," Kroll joked.
That led to his Tony-nominated co-star Andrew Rannells ("The Book of Mormon," "Falsettos") to explain the plot.
"It's about a couple – who doesn't watch basketball – who is starting their adoption journey. They find out while they're on vacation in Rome that they have matched with a birth mother, and they are going to adopt," Rannells said. "I guess we accidentally start murdering people, which sometimes happens on vacation. I don't know if you've watched a 'Dateline' recently, but it happens a lot."
"I hope there's no 'Dateline' when I'm in Indianapolis," Kroll responded.
"My God. He's so mad!" Rannells said.
"I Don't Understand You" is now in theaters.
