Description
It's safe to say no one likes paying for flights, especially when the price is higher than expected.
Kyle Potter found that out when he tried booking a trip to New York. Potter is the editor of Thrifty Traveler, a Minnesota-based flight and travel deal website, and has been following travel trends for seven years.
Potter originally was searching for a solo flight but then realized he needed another ticket for his wife.
“Went back and searched for two passengers, so we could book together and kind of did a double, triple take and was like, 'What went wrong here that the price for that flight departing at 8 a.m. is not what I saw, what has changed?'” Potter said.
Potter said he started digging and discovered higher fares for select one-way flight routes for passengers flying alone versus flying in groups of two.
