Description
Fourteen years after the end of the 2011 post-electoral crisis in western Ivory Coast, hundreds of women who survived sexual violence feel forgotten, as the nation prepares for its upcoming elections in October. "We started making videos, advocacy videos, so that we could be heard,” says survivor Juliette Bie, who also started a discussion group for others. “It was through her that I began to reject the shame, to pretend that nothing had happened,” says another survivor who attends Bie’s meetings.
