The U.S. Army was showcasing some of the aircrafts that will be flying over Washington for the 250th anniversary of the Army on Saturday.
Servicemembers from the 82nd Airborne Division who are participating in the flyover expressed their excitement and gratitude for the opportunity.
“I think we're celebrating a lot of good history as far as those who have sacrificed that's something to always be celebrated so I hope we remember where we came from and are thankful for everything we have,” CWO2 Caleb Lindsay said.
CWO2 Andrew Sugg became emotional when talking about the opportunity.
“For me it's, as you can tell, I'm pretty emotional over it, extremely excited and honored especially to take part in this out of all of the people we have across the services and all the people that we have in the Army who could be here standing in my position, I got to do this and I'm extremely excited,” Sugg said.
The military parade commemorating the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary and coinciding with President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday will occur on Saturday, June 14.
