Description
Bao Li, one of two giant pandas at the Smithsonian's National Zoo, turned four on Monday, and the National Zoo celebrated by presenting the giant panda with a fruit-based ice cake.
It was Bao Li's first birthday at the Zoo since he arrived in Washington, D.C. last October with a 3-year-old female giant panda, Qing Bao. Visitors could see Bao Li in person on Monday. The Zoo also showed Bao Li enjoying the ice cake on its Giant Panda Cam and its website.
The Zoo says Qing Bao will turn four on September 12. The giant panda program at the National Zoo exists in collaboration with the Chinese Wildlife Conservation Association.
