Description
On the latest episode of The CineFiles, KARE 11's Chris Hrapsky and film critic Brian Eggert (Jamie Rogers is off this week) dig into three striking new releases sure to have audiences talking.
First up is IF I HAD LEGS I'D KICK YOU, writer-director Mary Bronstein's sharp, unconventional drama about motherhood that blends dark humor and raw emotion. It also features an astounding performance by Rose Byrne. Now in limited release, the film opens in all markets on October 24 from A24.
Then, the duo tackles AFTER THE HUNT, Luca Guadagnino's gripping, provocative drama starring Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield, and Michael Stuhlbarg. The film is now in theaters.
Finally, Chris and Brian discuss Kathryn Bigelow's anxiety-inducing nuclear thriller A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE, a film that imagines the terrifying fragility of global peace. Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, and Anthony Ramos star. It's now in theaters and arrives on Netflix on October 24.
Also, in this week's CineGift, Brian recommended a look back at 2008's BAGHEAD — the Duplass brothers' lo-fi blend of comedy, horror, and indie filmmaking that helped define the "mumblecore" era. And stick around until the end for a sneak peek at the next CineGift from Jamie!
