Dr. Patrick Matoole, a neurologist with Franciscan Health, sat down with 13News to discuss the dangers of stroke—a condition that affects millions of Americans each year. The message was clear: recognize the signs early, act fast and don’t ignore the warning signals, especially men, who are often less likely to seek immediate care.
“A stroke is a pattern of historical and physical examination findings that suggest vascular injury to the brain,” Dr. Matoole explained.
“Time lost is brain lost,” he emphasized. “The sooner we diagnose a stroke, the sooner we can treat a stroke, you can delay or you can decrease disability and get them back to their quality of life.”
