A 12-year-old boy is at Riley Hospital after being shot in an apparent road rage incident on Interstate 465 in Indianapolis.
State police investigators believe the drivers of two vehicles fired shots at one another's vehicles while driving on I-465. The driver of one of the vehicles later crashed as they exited the interstate, police said.
First responders were called to a crash on the ramp from westbound I-465 to Emerson Avenue around 1:35 p.m. Friday, May 2. Beech Grove police officers arrived at the scene to find two vehicles that had been involved in the crash, a black Honda SUV and another vehicle.
The 12-year-old boy, who was riding in the back seat of the SUV, had been shot in the hip. Police noticed what appeared to be several bullet holes in the rear driver's side door of the SUV.
