An investigation is underway after a Lawrence police officer shot a woman with a gun Sunday night. According to a spokesperson with the Lawrence Police Department, shortly before 9 p.m. on April 27, officers responded to the 4600 block of North Richardt Avenue, near East 46th Street, on a report of a person armed with a gun. A 911 caller said they witnessed a female point a gun at another female, the spokesperson said. Arriving officers heard sounds coming from a detached garage and saw a light on. The officers manually opened the garage and saw a woman inside.
