Description
When John Moore heard about a company offering cash for homes, he was intrigued. The money was so attractive that he signed a deal to sell his duplex in southeast Indianapolis for more than $63,000.
Shortly after, reality hit.
“A few days after,” Moore said.
Moore thought a quick cash offer would help him achieve his goal of buying a car so he could get around, especially to appointments with doctors. That was before he realized how much housing costs had increased and how much he would spend finding a new place to live. Moore says selling would leave him worse off financially, so he tried to end the deal.
“I'm just too poor to move,” Moore wrote in a text to the company.
Shortly after, the company sued.
