Description
One person was killed in a crash between a car and semi along U.S. 31 in Westfield Wednesday morning.
The crash was reported shortly before 7 a.m. April 16 near the 130 mile-marker, just north of the 161st Street exit.
A preliminary investigation indicated the car was southbound on U.S. 31 when it "crossed left over the grassy median for unknown reasons" and crashed into a northbound semi, a Westfield Police Department spokesperson said in a statement.
The driver of the car, a man, died in the crash, while the semi driver, also a man, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
