A Hartford City man is facing charges after jumping into the White River to avoid being arrested.
According to Indiana State Police, on Sunday, April 6 around 5 p.m., a trooper tried to pull over a white Volkswagen for speeding on Interstate 69, north of Anderson. Police said the driver was going 89 mph in a 70 mph zone.
However, police said the driver, 30-year-old Sebastian Southerland, sped off. ISP said this led to a police chase through Chesterfield and into Anderson.
