Description
A Houston, Texas, man was sentenced Friday to about 5 1/2 years in prison for the March 2024 hit-and-run crash that killed a military veteran in downtown Indianapolis. Salvador Banales will also serve four years probation after he pleaded guilty and was convicted of two counts of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury, catastrophic injury, or death. Banales hit three people at Massachusetts and North College avenues on March 9, 2024. Brandon James Breedlove, 27, died following the crash. At sentencing Friday, March 7, Banales said he was "extremely remorseful." He said he made a series of unfortunate decisions. Banales also said, "Brandon sounds like an incredible person.
