The mayor of Lawrence said one of the city's police officers has been placed on administrative leave amid a video circulating on social media. The video, posted by Black Indy Live on Instagram, appears to show an officer hitting a man being held down. The caption for the video says the incident happened Tuesday, Feb. 18 in the parking lot of a business. "We understand the concerns raised by members of the community and want to assure the public that this matter is being taken seriously," Deputy Chief Travis Cline said in a news release.
