Description
A woman is recovering after being trapped in a burning truck following a crash on the U.S. 60 on Tuesday.
The seven-vehicle crash blocked several lanes on U.S. 60 westbound near Val Vista Drive in Mesa, Arizona, officials confirmed.
Shortly before 7 a.m., a cement mixer rear-ended a pickup truck that had slowed down for traffic. That pickup truck then went up in flames, according to an early report from the Department of Public Safety.
A Chandler Police Department motorcycle officer was able to break the truck's window and, with help from an off-duty firefighter, pulled the driver to safety before the fire engulfed the truck, DPS said.
