Description
Inside the House Chamber at the Indiana Statehouse Monday, Indiana Youth Institute President and CEO Tami Silverman addressed the crowd with the newest State of the Child report.
The detailed report highlights not only the challenges our young people face, but the advancements made over the last two years. The data, collected from public reports, shows how youth fare in categories like education, health, and family and community.
For example, in many central Indiana counties, including Marion County, the number of kids in foster care is slightly up.
Juvenile case filings in Marion County shot up from 987 in 2022 to 1,291 in 2023.
