An Indiana bill would ban transgender women from participating in women's sports at colleges in the state of Indiana. The bill was debated in the House Education Committee on the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025.
House Bill 1041, authored by Rep. Michell Davis (R-District 58), would require all sports teams at colleges to be male, female or coeducational. Athletes who were assigned male at birth would be barred from participating in female/women's/girls' teams or sports.
Under the bill, out-of-state schools would have to warn Indiana schools if one or more athletes on their team were trans women.
