An Indiana University graduate from Carmel was one of the victims of a deadly plane crash in Washington, D.C. Wednesday night.
Family confirmed to 13News Asra Hussain was on board an American Airlines passenger jet that collided with an Army helicopter at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. All 60 passengers on the plane and four crew members, plus three soldiers on board the helicopter, are believed to have been killed in the crash.
Hussain majored in health care policy at IU. She lived in Washington, D.C. with her husband, Hamaad Raza, who was a graduate of the IU Kelley School of Business.
Her father-in-law, Hashim Raza, told 13News Hussain regularly traveled to Wichita, Kansas, for work. Hamaad was waiting for his wife at the airport when the crash occurred.
