Description
Nearly a month after 14 people were killed and several others were injured in a terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, a second lawsuit has been filed. This suit includes 21 plaintiffs as of now. Many are survivors of the attack who are working to recover.
Two law firms are representing the plaintiffs — Maples & Connick and Romanucci & Blandin. The suit, filed Wednesday, names the city, NOPD, the city's security consultant, Mott MacDonald, Hard Rock Construction, and an unnamed party as defendants. They claim those named in the lawsuit acted negligently. They say the city didn't have a proper safety plan in place, and even though they knew the bollards weren't working, they didn't have a backup plan.
