An Indianapolis mother is behind bars for her alleged role in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Saturday evening on the city's northeast side. According to a police report from IMPD, around 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 25, IMPD responded to an apartment complex in the 6300 block of Newberry Road, near Shadeland Avenue and Fall Creek Road, on a report of a death investigation. The report states police were investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl, who the Marion County Coroner's Office identified as Skylar Gardner. According to the report, police arrested a 33-year-old woman for child neglect resulting in death.
