It wasn't a happy celebration for one Indianapolis family on Saturday. Instead, it was a celebration of life to honor someone who lost their life one year ago.
On Jan. 26 2024, Julius and Soni Parker got the devastating news that their 19-year-old son, Julius Jr., had been shot and killed.
Parker Jr. was found shot to death in a parked car on the city's southeast side. IMPD is investigating the incident as a homicide, but so far, his family says there haven't been any arrests made.
"Thinking of him not being here has been very, very painful for the entire family," said mother Soni Parker.
Now, his family wants to turn grief into hope to carry on Parker Jr.'s legacy.
