Description
Along East Washington Street on Indianapolis' east side sits McGinley's Golden Ace Inn.
It's Indy's oldest Irish bar and one of the oldest family-owned pubs in the United States. Irish immigrants John and Ann McGinley opened the bar in 1934.
"The Ace," as its known, is typically closed on Mondays. Jan. 20, however, is no average Monday.
The bar hosted a special watch party for the College Football Playoff National Championship. Notre Dame takes on Ohio State University Monday night in Atlanta.
The Ace opened its doors at 6 p.m. for a pitch-in dinner at 6:30 p.m. Guests were encouraged to bring a dish and enjoy good drinks in a true Irish environment.
